People are notoriously bad at being truly random or spontaneous, perhaps because stability may have been an advantage in societies. An obvious way to illustrate this is to ask someone to make two listsl of heads and tails for 100 (or 200) coinflips. One list should be made by actually flipping a coin, while the second list should be created at random. In most cases, the list that was artificially made will not have any runs of three or more consecuritve heads or tails. This is because the mind tends to bias itself in facor of expecting alternating heads and tails. In reality, it is quite reasonably to expect runs of consecutive heads or tails.
